Surviving My Life

Violence

This week has been extremely busy for me due to events that have transpired in my local area.

Monday night at 8:15pm four armed men went into a local jewelry store in New Hartford, and handcuffed the employees there. They then stole loose diamonds and cash.

One employee managed to get a call into 911, and Police arived on the scene just as the thieves were leaving. They split up. One headed in a car up the road where he crashed into a Byrne Dairy (local gas station). He was caught and arrested. One of the other guys was being chased by a police officer. When the police officer caught up, the guy pulled a gun and shot the police officer. He was shot through the neck and bled to death.

The bad guy then carjacked a tow truck driver and forced him - at gunpoint - to drive to Phillidephia P.A., where he let the driver go. Cops in Philly found him and surrounded his house. They called him on his cell phone and asked him to come out peacefully - he did not. He came out shooting, and the cops were forced to kill him.

While it's horrible enough that the police officer was killed, he left behind a wife and one-year-old daughter.

Unbelieveable.

In any case, I've been working overtime at work, and will continue to be working overtime until this is over - Saturday or so.

The local police are telling us that they think there were two more men involved in this. They are out looking for them right now.

I find it amazing that people would stoop so low as to take a life over some rocks and minerals.

The power of greed never ceases to amaze me.
