Tumbleweed

For anyone that's stuck with my infrequent posting habits, you'd know that when I first started my job I was very uncertain about dealing with my generation on a regular basis every day.

I've seen my generation as a group of malcontents intent on destroying what's left of the world as we know it. I saw my generation as constantly late, often drunk, and a frequently promiscuous group of individuals that lived for nothing more than the unwinding of every moral fiber that is left in the country.

Their agendas of global warming, pro gay marriage, anti-war, and sexual freedom have bothered me for many years. Darlings of the elite media, my generation is easily swayed by what they view on television, hear on the radio, play in video games, and read from leftist politions and activist groups who feel that any rule is meant to be broken and any lie to be a possible truth.

This was my mindset as I hunkered down in my new job.

Now, one semester later, I have to admit I was wrong.

The college I work for is not the elitist place that everyone views it to be - well, at least from my perspective in the building I work in. Sure, there are people who merit that badge of dishonor, but there are many who do not.

I've met many hard working students that want to do something with their lives. Something past the irredeemable qualities that box in the generation they are segmented from.

The college isn't full of nonsensically rich brats who do zero to advance their careers and live off the superfluous stipend doled out by their wealthy parents. Not all of them are, at least.

And, while typing these ideals provides a certain quandry in the fact that there are individuals like this at this college, it also shows that the majority are not. To date I've met 19 students from foreign countries that live here in these United States having not been brought up under the media that I so loathe. Their statements as to the politics in their home country vis-a-vi the reality of our own brings a certain "flamethrower" effect to the situation - bottom line is that the country is not in such an awefull state as the liberals would have us to believe.

While my generation is much better off than I believed them to be, I'm still greatly concerned over the volumetric effect of science on their souls.

I see that many of them simply believe that they are too smart for Jesus - they see him as a "quaint idea".

This worries me greatly.

A generation without Christ is doomed to repeat the follies of a great many nations and peoples before hand. A nation without the groundings provided by the Bible as the cornerstone for their lives are doomed to wake up one day conquered by their own unabashed secularist mindsets - and find themselves slaves to that ideal.

I hope they wake up soon. The alarm clock is ringing.

Unfortuneately many will never come to the realization that they NEED Jesus. At least there is hope though. How is your dog?? I read it on your sister's blog but wasn't sure what happened.....
