Debating the Debates

So, it's roughly 11:30 Thursday night now, after the debate. I've watched President Bush and Senator Kerry battle it out verbally over the issues of Homeland Security, and the battle in Iraq. The consensus? It was a great debate. Kerry shot himself in the foot several times, and Bush didn't push the offensive at every point that he could have. In that aspect, I was dissapointed in President Bush. However - in the overall category of the debate, President Bush ruled the roost. He was handing out the truth about Kerry's record faster than Kerry could climb out of his sinking ship.
I only have one point before getting to bed, and getting ready to yet again head into work and finish moving my equipment from the "Glorified Cubicle" to my wall-to-wall carpeted office.(There's carpeting on the walls...that might mean something that they're putting me in a "padded room"...I'm not sure what to think about that...)
My point is this - President Bush brought out a point about our current battle in Iraq that nobody - not even supporters of the war - have brought out. That's this: The terrorists are working in a concentrated effort to stop us in Iraq. Prime Minister Allawi said that "Terrorist are pouring in across the border.". The reason for that is that they know that a free Iraq will be an absolutly huge threat to their horrible way of life. Right now Iraq is the focal point of the struggle that the free world is fighting against Terrorism. Right now it's the central location. For the first time you've got all these terrorists together fighting our army. Are people dying? Yes. Are they killing Americans? Yes, they have. Are they killing civilians? Yes, they are. Are we losing? No. We're not. The truth of the matter is that we're beheading the snake of terrorism, and the terrorists know it.
It is a terribly unfortunate thing that we've lost so many of our Americans during this war on terror. As of my typing here in this blog, 1,054 Americans have died since we invaded Afganistan and Iraq. So, think of it this way. Do we continue at this rate of beating the terrorists, and fighting them in their own backyard, or do we do what John Kerry and the Democrats would do and revert to a September 10th mentality, and let over 3,000 people die in only a few seconds?
Anyone will agree that fighting the terrorists and taking minor casualties outweighs losing them three, four, five thousand or more in a single clip here in our front yards.
I just can't understand how one can function like that.
I raise my can of Pepsi to you, Mr. President, and eagerly await the next debate.

I would just like to respectively disagree with you.
You say that we are winning? I don't think we are. We are losing more and more soldiers daily in this war. More in July than in June, more in August than in July, more in September than in August. You can look the numbers up yourself.
Things are not getting better. President Bush's plans for this war (which we were lied to about in the beginning but no one brings that up) are not going to make things better. That brings me to another thing. Was our purpose for war not to find weapons of mass destruction? And we've been there for almost two years and haven't found any.
Why isn't this war over? We're liberating Iraq? When did we decide to do that? And even if we are, do we have to declare war on them in order to liberate them? Altogether it's a bad situation. Our President has made a mess and we need someone to clean it up.
And we're not "beating" the terrorists. Americans are 90 percent of the casualties of this war, did you not pick that up when you watched the debate the other night?
Senator Kerry and us Democrats do not have the September 10th mentality. And you can't fault him for changing his mind because he was lied to in the beginning, just like we were. The thing he did wrong was trust the President and his administration to do what was best for this country. They didn't do what was best. So they need to go.
I also don't know how you figured out that Bush won the debate the other night either. Every single news source I have read has said that Kerry won according to the American people. Here's just one: http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/10/03/election.poll/
The truth of this matter is not that we're ending terroism, we're breading a hate for America, one that could end in something more serious than a war on terrorism, it could end in a world war. It needs to stop.
Well now! Someone who writes back. Nice.
Okay, here we go -
Did Kerry with the debate? Yes and no. He delivers his messages well, but the substance in Bush's message is better.
Would you rather that we fight the terrorists in their backyard, or in ours?
And we're killing the terrorists. They're coming in in droves. I look at it like a win-win scenario. They're coming to us, and we're promptly helping them into the after-life. One couldn't be happier.
World war? Come on now, you can't really believe that. Putting John Kerry into office isn't going to change anything. We're still going to be there rebuilding that country. And for the record, I've never heard of ANY coutry being rebuilt in two years. That's like bringing the Auca Indians in Ecuador into NASA, tossing them a flight manual for a space shuttle, and telling them that there's going to be a mandatory flight training in four days.
No, I'm sorry, but your arguments don't add up.
I'm sorry, but YOUR arguments don't add up. And I like how you just conveniently skipped over my main points.
Yeah sure President Bush won the debate...if you're going by how many times "uhhh...duhhh...well...errr..." was uttered from his mouth. Kerry had a better message and he delivered it better as well.
You're okay with killing Iraqi's? Since when was it okay to kill people? Ever heard of the Ten Commandments? You think God doesn't love those people just as much as He does you and me?
And we are NOT only killing terrorists, we are killing civilians. The first attack we had on Iraq, we launched fifty missels. Do you know how many reached their target destination? Zero. None. Do you know what we hit with those bombs instead? Civilians. Women and children. You can look those stats up yourself as well. We won't have to liberate them much longer if we're KILLING them all.
And also, why would you support a President who lied to his people? He lied to the people who elected him. People wanna focus on how Bush is more moral that Kerry, but since when is lying and war moral?
Another thing...if you watched the debate the other night you would remember that there are 35-40 countries who are more of a threat to us than Iraq. So why Iraq?
Let's just face the truth here: Bush came into office looking for a reason to go to war with Iraq. And he used us and September 11th to do it. You want a President in office like that? If you do, then you deserve the way he treats you.
Yes, there is a threat of world war. While there have not been any nuclear weapons found in Iraq, there have been some found in North Korea. But the President has said that he's not going to respond to the leaders there at all. This leaves America vulnerable to North Korea. You know who's North Korea's big brother? China. North Korea & China against America. yeah, sure, that's not world war...

Going by your point of view, we would never do anything about anyone anywhere who threatens us. Those fifty missles? An unfortunate instance. Would those missles have hit their target if John Kerry was in office? No. The same guy would have been firing them.
Being a passifist does have it's good and bad points. The answer is not always to go to war. But in this instance, it was.
Also consider this. John Kerry voted against the United Nations fighting back against Iraq when it invaded Kuwait. If he had been in office when George Bush Sr. was in, Kuwait would now be part of Iraq.
As for "would God kill people?". Yes. Yes he would. In numerous accounts, God not only told the Israelites to destroy their enemies, he told them to kill their women, their children, and burn their cities to the ground sparing nothing and no person, or he did it himself. Look up Soddom and Gomorah.
War is moral when it's to defend your country. End of story.
As for the President lying, prove it.
Show me the proof. That's right. You can't do it. There IS no proof.
For Iraq not being a threat - Iraq's own scientist, Huda Salih Mahdi Ammash, has said that Saddam was trying to obtain them. Having gotten them, do you think that Saddam would have kept them, or given them to someone that could strike against the two nations that he hated, Iraq, and the USA?
This World War is a bunch of baloney. North Korea has three missles. 3. That's it. And they're not ICBM's. If you think that China and Russia are going to play dead, you're not thinking straight. World War Three starting because of us putting a foundation for freedom in the middle east, and reigning in North Korea is an unsubstantiated claim.
