Picking The President

I like to think that I'm a guy who's pretty level-headed. It really does take a lot for me to get angry. Then these two liberal characters called Iraq a "quagmire" and that we were "repeating Vietnam".
Enough is Enough.
The people who believe these things have some serious logical problems. These are the same people that would be complaining about President Bush if he hadn't have gone into Iraq. Facts are facts here, folks. We saved those people from a brutal inhumane dictator.
So, seeing as my brain has kicked into high gear, I'm going to write this before I hit the sack. Here we go -
"Iraq Is Turning Out Like Vietnam"
In Vietnam, we showed up in 1965, and left in 1973. That's 8 years. How long have we been in Iraq? 2 years. Is Iraq like Vietnam? No. Why? Because we're winning.
Second argument:
"Iraq Is A Quagmire"
Let me get this straight. We can't pick an American Idol in 30 some odd weeks, but we're supposed to already have invaded, taken over, rebuilt the country's entire infastructure, brought them out of the stone age, held nationwide elections, and eradicated all the terrorists in two years?
Obviously logic runs short in these people.
And for the rest of the liberals that say that President Bush has no foreign policy, think of this. We're listened to now. Nations understand that when President Bush gives a deadline, he's not going to keep handing them out when you don't meet them like a drunken pez dispenser on halloween. These countries now understand: When there's a deadline, you better meet it.
Notice that as soon as we invaded Iraq, countries that wouldn't listen before "mysteriously" started to conform to the regulations set forth by the U.N. Lybia handed over it's nukes, and even North Korea decided that it might be time to do the right thing. Amazing.
I'm voting for President Bush.
Why? Because we all know that 10 out of 10 terrorists don't want him in office anymore.

hello there Jeremy; not a blogger myself since I just find out about this 'world out' there. Anyway, read some of your posts-you're a good writer. You know how to express your thoughts well. I especially liked the one on 'Picking the President.' It made perfect sense. . .I wish I could think that clearly when it comes to politics. lol. It does make me hot though when people are so ignorant about politics. especially when they have no idea what they are talking about as in the 'BUSH SLAMMERS' that say we should have never gone to war. It was just refreshing to see someone speaking out who thought exactly as I did concerning that. So thanks. . . .
oh by the way.....My brother was a 'geek' during his younger years---he had a transformation similiar to yours, but quite honestly, if I ever get a guy as sweet as him, I will be the happiest girl in the world. So what I am trying to say . . .don't give up. The cool, cocky, popular guys don't always get the best girls...for good reason. You never know what's just around the corner. Take care, Rachel

Your words are kind. Where I work, I work in a digital universe where I combine Visual and Audio stimuli to get my point across to my client's potential customers.
Writing is something that I really enjoy. - And writing about my life is an endless pool of interesting things. Please feel free to post your comments on any one of my odd blogs. I do tend to roam about what I talk about. When I review what I've wrote previously, I realize that I'm more all over the map than Ray Charles reading map directions.
I look forward to your comments! - Jeremiah
I think 'bush slammers' have researched more than bush supporters have, myself.
Bush was looking for a reason to go to war. And so he used our emotions for september 11th to for support for this war that had nothing to do with that day. He lied and used us. I don't see how someone can logically and ethically support a President like that.
And yes, we removed an inhumane dictator. Removed. As in past tense. So what are we still doing over there?
A nation cannot be liberated by another nation. They can be helped and supported. But war is not the answer to liberating Iraq. American saying "I'm gonna liberate you whether you like it or not" is arrogant.
Think about when America was liberated from Britain. We had to do it ourselves. We had help from France, but they didn't come over here and declare war on us and say "we're going to liberate you!" We had to want it and do it ourselves.
Well, if you want to use the Britain defense consider this: At the time of our Revolution us Americans defeated the most powerful nation on earth at the time. Of course, no other country was going to show up and liberate us. That would have been an act of war against Britain. Not a smart move.
Also - During WWII we liberated TONS of countries that thank us now. France. Spain. Denmark. Holland, ect.
As for the "Bush lied to us".
Pay attention to your own canidate. Out of his own mouth "Anyone who believes that the world isn't better off without Saddam Hussain shouldn't be President".
President Bush didn't lie to us. He was told by his security advisors that Iraq posed a threat to us. And it didn't stop there.
He was told by Britain.
He was told by Russia.
AND he was told by China.
So, let's review. Your mom tells you someone's going to break into your house and kill your family. Then you get three consecutive phonecalls from people that you trust telling you the same thing. What do you do? Not listen to them? No.
If you think that our President was going to hear all of these facts brought to him by these people, and with September 11th fresh in his mind, and NOT act, you're just not thinking this through all the way.
Anyway, thank you Mr/Mrs Anonymous for your post. I look forward to furthur bantering with you!
Iraq posed a threat to us? Okay, so even if they did and he didn't lie about that part. We've been over there for a year and a half and haven't found nuclear weapons. That's the end of that threat.
And okay, say we went to war to get Hussein. We've got him captured. So that's the end of that one too.
And we may have liberated countries during WWII but they were under the control of a whole other country, you cannot overlook that. If we had captured Adolf Hitler, I doubt that we would have continued war with France and the rest of those countries.
Another thing, yeah, it may take longer than two years to get out of Iraq, but it's only because of the complete mess that President Bush has made over there. No matter who is elected, it's going to take time fix, I just don't want to vote for the person who got us into the mess in the first place.
