Holy Peanut Butter, Batman!

As I sit here typing, it's 10:45am on a Sunday. There's a local roadrace here called "The Boilermaker" which is now the largest 15k Race in our country. Right now, less than one mile from my apartment is a party where there are over 30,000 people. When the wind dies down, I can hear them, and the music playing in the background.
I woke up today to a letter taped to my door - "To increase the safety of the runners, and those spectating, no cars will be allowed to drive on this street until 12:00pm".
That's so kind of them! To make sure that even if I want to, I can't leave.
In any case, they had fireworks - yes, fireworks. At 10:30 in the morning. I don't know what they were thinking. Who can see fireworks in broad daylight? Then, a few F16 Tomcats flew in close pattern overhead three times.
You think fireworks are loud? Try having the United States AirForce doing flybys over your house! It sounded like my house was going to collapse.
For what it's worth, I think it's a great event. We get a lot of people that visit this area from all over the world now. It's cool to think that there are people in other countries that train all year to come here.
And run 15k. In the hot sun. Or, if weather's not being nice, in the Rain. 100% humidity. Through a few rundown neighborhoods.
Yeah. Going on vacation somewhere to run for two hours?
Well, I guess that could be up to you.
Personally, I would never go on vacation someplace where all I'd be doing is running.
What's the fun in that?
