It Figures.

Well, they gave the job at Adelphia to somebody else. Figures.

Then they tell me they have another job they want me to do - and, while they tell me all sorts of good things about it, the job opening itself's not a definite. They hire from within, and this makes me worried.

Right now I have a ladder I'm standing on to see over the weeds I'm standing in. Every day without a job is pushing me farther and farther down into the dirt financially.

Then there's this thing that rises up in my spirit when I start thinking about it. I have not come this far to be turned down or to give up. Giving up is not in my spirit. Today, I drove up a hill in my car doing 1 mph (that's right, ONE) in the snow with my tires spinning. The distance? 1.5 miles. Uphill in a snowstorm. It took me an hour and a half. Why didn't I give up?

It's not in me to quit.

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. I will be found by you," says the LORD. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and bring you home again to your own land."
